Treatment Overview

Vertical lip lines, sometimes called smoker's lines, and lipstick that feathers into fine creases are among the hardest signs of ageing to treat with injectables alone. Fractional CO2 resurfaces the perioral area and rebuilds collagen where the lines sit.

We also treat the vermillion border, the edge of the lip, to sharpen definition and stop feathering. The treatment is quick, and many patients pair it with lip filler or a lip flip once the skin has healed.

How to Prepare

• Attend a consultation with Dr. Iskander to confirm settings for your skin
• Avoid sun, tanning and self‑tanner for four weeks before
• Stop retinoids and acids one week before
• Let us know about cold sores, isotretinoin use or keloid history

What to Expect

• Numbing cream on the area around the mouth
• A focused laser pass over the lip lines or border
• Pinkness and mild swelling for several days
• Smoother skin above the lip and a crisper lip edge within two to four weeks

Aftercare

• Follow the healing kit instructions and keep the skin moist
• No makeup until peeling has finished
• Strict sun avoidance and SPF for four weeks
• Sleep elevated the first two nights to reduce swelling
