Treatment Overview

Excessive sweating of the underarms, palms or feet is a medical condition, not a hygiene problem, and it responds remarkably well to neurotoxin injections. Botox® is FDA‑approved for underarm hyperhidrosis and blocks the nerve signals that switch sweat glands on.

A single treatment reduces sweating by well over half for most patients and lasts six to twelve months. For palms and feet we use a nerve block or numbing to keep the treatment comfortable.

How to Prepare

• Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil for a week if medically safe
• Skip alcohol for 24 hours to reduce bruising
• Arrive without makeup on the treatment area
• Tell us about any upcoming events or dental work

What to Expect

• A starch‑iodine test to map exactly where you sweat
• A grid of small injections across the area, about 50 units per underarm
• Nothing to recover from; you can return to work immediately
• Noticeably drier skin within a week, lasting six to twelve months

Aftercare

• Avoid touching, massaging or pressure on the area for 24 hours
• Stay upright for four hours after neurotoxin
• Skip strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours
• Ice gently if swollen; bruising fades within a week
